Five all-purpose cleaners for every surface
The heart of the home is its surfaces, the places where bread is broken, letters are written, prayers are whispered. Clean them with ingredients that honour the same simplicity God placed in creation.

Citrus vinegar all-purpose spray
- 1 cup white vinegar
- 1 cup water
- Peels from 2 lemons or 1 orange
- 10 drops lemon essential oil
- Place the citrus peels in a jar and cover with vinegar. Let it sit one week.
- Strain ½ cup infused vinegar into a spray bottle; add ½ cup fresh water and the essential oil.
- Shake before each use.
For counters, sinks, glass and appliances. Avoid on marble or granite.
Antibacterial spice blend
- 2 cups water
- 2 tbsp Castile soap
- 10 drops clove · 8 drops lemon · 6 drops eucalyptus · 5 drops rosemary
Combine in a spray bottle, shake gently, spray surfaces.
Gentle wood cleaner
- ½ cup olive oil
- ½ cup white vinegar
- 10 drops orange essential oil
Shake before use; apply with a soft cloth, following the grain.
Glass and mirror polish
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup vinegar
- 1 tbsp rubbing alcohol
- 5 drops peppermint essential oil
Spray lightly and buff with a dry cloth.
Disinfecting hydrosol mist
- 1 cup witch hazel or vodka
- 1 cup distilled water
- 15 drops tea tree · 10 drops lavender
Spritz after cleaning to freshen the air.
Cleanliness rooted in love becomes witness. The scent of citrus and calm hands can minister more quietly than words.
