What we make

What is actually in the Tallow Beauty Cream?

Beef tallow, cold pressed jojoba oil and cold pressed castor oil, with essential oils of chamomile, tea tree, frankincense and peppermint. That is the whole list. It is deeply nourishing and restorative, and it is short on purpose so you can trace anything your skin reacts to.

And the Coffee Scrub?

Marseille soap, sugar, ground coffee, cold pressed castor oil and home-made vanilla extract. Gently cleansing and exfoliating, with the smell of coffee and vanilla rather than perfume.

Is the Set suitable for sensitive skin?

The lists are short and lightly scented with essential oils rather than fragrance. If your skin reacts easily, patch test on your inner arm and give it a day before using it properly. We describe how things are made and let you decide, rather than making claims about what they will do.

Why does the texture change with the weather?

Tallow and castor oil soften in warmth and firm up when it is cool. That is the ingredients behaving normally, not a fault. Warm a little between your palms and it smooths out.

How long does a jar last?

Used a few times a week, most people finish a jar in two to three months. There are no synthetic preservatives, so we suggest using it within six months of the date written on the label.

02

Starting out

Do I have to change everything at once?

No, and please do not. Natural living isn’t about being perfect, it’s about being intentional. Replace one thing when it runs out, live with it for a week, then choose the next. A cupboard cleared in a single anxious evening usually gets refilled the same way.

Where do I start if I have never made anything?

Start with the simplest thing in your house. An all-purpose spray of vinegar, water and a little lemon peel takes five minutes and teaches you more than a whole shelf of reading. You don’t need to be an expert. You don’t need to make every product from scratch. You just need to start somewhere.

Can I make the recipes in the journal at home?

Yes, that is what they are for. Every article in the journal comes from A Clean Start, and the measurements are written for an ordinary kitchen with ordinary equipment. Let’s take it one clean step at a time.

03

Orders and shipping

Where do I place an order?

Through our Etsy shop, which handles stock, payment and shipping. Every shop link on this site opens it in a new tab.

How is an order packed and shipped?

In glass, wrapped in paper, in a box with no plastic filler. Orders leave within three working days of being made, because each batch is mixed by hand rather than held in a warehouse.

Why is the shop so small?

Everything is made in small batches in a home kitchen, so the shelf stays honest about what one pair of hands can make well. Two products made carefully say more than twenty made quickly.

Are the planners and books the same thing?

The planners are printable PDFs you download and use straight away. The books are the Rositas: Modern Guide to Non-Toxic Living series, longer reads with over a hundred recipes, sourcing notes and space to make them your own.

04

Faith

Where does faith come into this?

Faith is the foundation rather than the headline. It appears in Rositas Reflections, in the Scripture at the top of a page, and in the fact that each creation is made with prayer, love, and natural ingredients. You are welcome here whether or not you share it.

Do I need to be religious to use Rositas?

Not at all. The products are simply made and the writing is practical. The reflections are there if you want them and easy to pass by if you don’t.
