  • 1 cup baking soda
  • 1 bar grated Castile soap, about 1 cup
  • ½ cup salt
  • 20 drops lavender essential oil

Mix well and store in an airtight jar. Use 2 tbsp per load.

Liquid laundry soap

  • 10 drops eucalyptus essential oil

Dissolve the soap flakes in hot water, add the remaining ingredients, cool and store in a jug. Use ½ cup per load.

Fabric softener rinse

  • ½ cup white vinegar
  • 10 drops lavender or rose essential oil

Add to the rinse cycle. Clothes emerge soft and lightly fragrant.
